Just 20 miles or so inland from Boulmer Beach Holiday Cottage are the Cheviots.
This shot was taken just south-east of Wooler which is the gateway to the Cheviots. Cheviot Hill rises to 815m or 2764 ft. it´s a great place for walking with some of the best prehistoric hillforts in the British Isles.
Walking in the Cheviots
The Cheviot marks the northern most end to the Pennine way. The walk up to the top is pretty strenuous and you´ll need some good gear as the weather can change pretty quickly, but the views from the top are breathtaking.
If you fancy something a little less strenuous, just head into one of the valleys and walk along one the becks.
To get into the park, drive through Wooler and head into the College Valley- a spectacular drive.
